Thanks for all the birthday wishes, I really appreciate you taking the time. I am especially grateful for this birthday because things could have easily gone quite differently for me. I am grateful that I am here to be blessed by so many with your thoughtful gestures and kind words. This journey is certainly not easy, but I realize how blessed I am to be able to put my boys to bed and believe that I will be able to take them to their first day of school tomorrow. I am grateful that my husband is not called to raise our boys on his own, grateful that 25 more years with him is a distinct possibility. Thank you all, blessings!
We made it to August!
It’s been a while since we have connected, so much has happened! I made it through cycle 4, I am visiting friends in Georgia and before that I had a really tough couple of days with fatigue! I am so grateful that I made it through those with my faith and resolve intact. I am grateful that He gives me enough grace to manage the challenges of a significantly compromised immune system. I am blessed and there is no denying it!
Blessings!
Chemotherapy Cycle 4
Getting ready to start cycle 4 tomorrow.
Chemotherapy Cycle 3 Days 1, 2, 3
Things are moving along nicely here. My sister and family are here hanging with the boys and I as Huey is off at his retreat. I have been a bit fatigued but still pretty active. Just grateful for coming this far and hopeful to make it through the next treatments and put them behind me! Rest week here we come…

Chemotherapy Cycle 3
Cycle 3 in the books. We are so grateful that we have wonderful friends and a supportive church family. We had a childcare provider for the boys and a friend to sit with me at the hospital! Thank you, thank you for all you do!
Blessings!
Today
I am less tired today than I have been for the past two days. Started my day with labs and came home and took the boys to the pool with friends. It’s wonderful to me that I am able to do so many normal and ordinary things. It might require a little more effort compared to pre-chemo but so grateful that I am able to continue to give the boys these opportunities for fun.
Blessings!
Post Chemotherapy Day 4 cycle 3
Still tired and a little nauseous. I am hopeful that by tomorrow i will have a little more energy. I am not in pain and definitely not nauseous to the point of throwing up but been queasy for two days.
In other news, I am still on my project to sock away funds for Jamaica and hoping to sell something today that will add to the pot. Super excited to visit JA over thanksgiving!
Blessings!
Post chemotherapy Day 3 cycle 3
A little tired and nauseous today but could be worse. I am grateful for the time I can spend hanging out with my family and for a quiet comfortable home in which to nap. The boys went to church today and I spent the day on Ben’s bean bag! When they got home we had a fabulous picnic lunch on a blanket on Ben’s bedroom floor, even Huey seem to enjoy the experience although he does not like in-room dining, lol! Super good fun and a great memory for the boys!
Blessings!
Post chemotherapy day 2 cycle 3
Super grateful for God’s leading in my life particularly through this chapter. As I cozied up in the couch with my big boy and two little boys last night, I realized, “I am HAPPY.” We often talk about the things that cancer has taken or continues to take; the hair, the ability to do somethings and the negatives it brings. Today, I think of the positives for me, the ability to slow down and show the people closest to me how much they mean to me, feeling the love from so many, the authenticity that flourishes in the face of serious illness. I am grateful that I am here and I get to lead this life with the assurance that God is doing what He promised to do, give meaning and purpose!
Blessings!
July 9 Post chemotherapy day 1 cycle 3!
Yay, I am getting there! I can see the end in sight and I am grateful. I feel very blessed today despite all that’s going on. I was able to hang out with my 3 boys just running errands and getting caught up. A friend also visited and we had a good chat. She even brought me some yum goodies, fruit including mangoes among other things, thanks Dayna! I am tired today but I got in a half hour nap and I feel better than I did. Got up just before 4 today and got a lot of planning and organizing done regarding the children’s return to school ect. However, by 2pm I was too tired to move hence the nap.
