Today, I am grateful for my amazing husband’s willingness to let me be me even if it drives him a little crazy. He is a food pusher and he hates to think there is someone who haven’t had enough to eat with a treat thrown in for good measure. Well, my new food choices do not lend themselves to the traditional definition of treats. So goings out to eat can be a real struggle. I watched him stay calm and try to encourage me to eat something that would meet my dietary needs and not compromise my lifestyle choices. It was some feat! Grateful that he cares enough to push but that he loves and respects me and what I am doing enough to understand.
So aside from my food challenges, (and I took my smoothies, water, nuts and fruit). It was a very busy weekend. Citizenship swearing in on Friday, check-in to hotel on Friday afternoon, neices graduation from med school in Gainesville almost 3 hours away and hotel check out on Sunday. That’s quite a bit to engage in, though super exhausted I am grateful that I got to do it all. I am also grateful for the friends who kept the boys. Hours after they picked the boys up from school they realized that their 5 year old was a very sick boy, 105 degree fever, diagnosis? bilateral pneumonia! So you think they called and told us so we could come get our boys? No way, they did business as usual, boys with dad, sick boy with mom. On top of that they got the boys dressed for graduation and met us at 6:00 to get them and were ready to receive them hours later after the ceremony. I am so grateful for their sacrifice! I feel so blessed.
Blessings!
