Day 14 Yes, its been 2 weeks

This morning I am reflective. I reflect on the timeline of my diagnosis, the sharing with family and friends, the schedule of surgery- up to now, my 14th day post surgery.

It has been busy, sometimes challenging, but definitely not boring. As with any serious illness, there has been a tremendous amount of interaction with the healthcare community. I have had some phenomenal experiences, with doctors and staff, and I have also had some pretty sad experiences. One day soon, I will share some of both. Not just to call out the bad, but to emphasize that even in the midst of the mess we call healthcare in this country there are men and women all over who strive for excellence and aim to go above and beyond, just because. I salute you all today, and pray that God will give you a little more patience and a little more strength to answer that call light, to clean that latest mess or to respond to your service to call back that cranky patient in pain who has been calling all weekend long.

Special salute to MY nurse who went back to work today after 14 days home caring for me. I love you more than I am able to share!

Blessings!
